SPRING STEEL SUPPLIER IN MUMBAI

Steel alloys are the most commonly used spring materials. The most popular alloys include high-carbon (such as the music wire used for guitar strings), oil-tempered low-carbon, chrome silicon, chrome vanadium, and stainless steel. The term yield strength refers to a material’s ability to endure significant bending or twisting and return to its original shape without deforming. Spring steel stock alloys typically include silicone in their composition and are hardened and cold rolled after casting to improve yield strength. Spring steel products are generally either cold drawn as wire or punched from flat stock. Typical uses include saw blades, tape measures, helical springs, and vehicle suspension elements.

  • Resilience: Spring steel is highly resilient and can return to its original shapes after being bent or stretched.
  • Hardness and Durability: Spring steel can support heavy loads without breaking. Additionally, it can withstand weather and wear over a long period of time.
  • Elasticity: Spring steel can be formed, shaped, and post-heat treated without losing its shape.
  • Corrosion Resistance: With high corrosion resistance, spring steel is well-suited for use in harsh conditions.
  • Clips & Fasteners: With high-strength and good fatigue resistance, spring steel is ideal for creating clips and fasteners that hold things together.
  • Springs: From everyday machinery to vehicular parts, spring steel is most commonly used to create coil springs, compression springs, torsion springs, and leaf springs.
  • Medical Equipment: Spring steel is often used to create medical instruments, like surgical tools and orthodontic appliances.
  • Machinery: Used for manufacturing machinery and equipment, from lawnmowers and aircrafts to conveyers and pumps.
  • Hand Tools: Perfect for producing strong, durable tools like pliers, wrenches, and scissors.

Round Bars: 6 mm to 200 mm diameter in ready stock.

Hexagonal Bars: 6 mm to 85 mm A/F.

Plates & Sheets: Thickness 0.5 mm to 50 mm in custom cut lengths.

We supply Spring Steel products in multiple finish conditions depending on application demands:

  • Bright Annealed: Soft annealed condition suitable for stamping, bending, and forming before heat treatment.
  • Hardened & Tempered (Blue/Polished): High strength hardened condition with polished blue/yellow surface for immediate spring use.
  • Cold Drawn Bright: Smooth drawn surface finish (+/- 0.02mm) for high fatigue coil springs.

Recommended heat treatment procedures for optimum spring elasticity and fatigue resistance:

  • Hardening: Heat to 830°C – 860°C, oil quench immediately to retain martensitic structure.
  • Tempering: Temper at 400°C – 520°C based on desired hardness (42 to 50 HRC) and elastic recovery.
  • Stress Relieving: Heat to 250°C – 350°C after coiling or forming to remove residual bending stresses.

Key industrial applications for spring steel grades:

  • Automotive & Transport: Heavy vehicle leaf springs, suspension coil springs, clutch diaphragms, stabilizer bars.
  • Engineering & Tools: Pliers, wrenches, surgical instruments, saw blades, tape measures, industrial clips and fasteners.
